REFERENCES: ARMS AND ARMOR
Painting the metal areas of a miniature with non-metallic paints is all the rage these days. This technique is called "NMM", which is short for "Non-Metallic Metal". Trying to get it to look realistic is difficult without either years of experience in doing 2-D artwork, or a good reference. To help my fellow painters out I have compiled some reference photos of shiny metallic objects that would be commonly seen on a fantasy miniature. These photos came mostly from the excellent Museum Replicas catalog, and the United Cutlery catalog.
